  • PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE COMPLETING THE FORM:

    Salary Lane Changes are outlined in your collective bargaining agreement: Article XIII - pages 45 & 46. Please read this first. Your collective bargaining agreement may be found HERE.

    Common procedural and lane change questions:

    • Credits for MA-15; MA-30; MA-45; and MA-60, must be completed subsequent to the date your Master's Degree was confirmed/awarded.
    • A maximum of nine (9) inservice credits may be applied to any lane advancement. The balance of the fifteen (15) credits must be at the graduate level.
    • A maximum of six (6) credits may be online/asynchronous/self-paced.
    • All courses being entered below should have already been approved on MLP.
    • Make sure all courses being entered below have been marked complete on MLP prior to submitting the form.
    • For graduate credits - please have original transcripts emailed or sent directly to the HR office. jnmurphy@sufferncentral.org
    • You may only advance one lane per school year.
    • Submission dates for the a change are:
      • September 1 - for those members who have completed their requirements prior to the first day of school.
      • February 1 - for those members who have completed their requirements prior to February 1, with one-half payment for the year.
    • No more than a total of nine (9) credit hours shall be approved for courses completed during each semester (fall and spring) and not more than a total of nine (9) credit hours shall be approved for courses completed during the summer, providing for a maximum of eighteen (18) credit hours during the period July 1 through the following June 30. 
      • Semester Dates:
        • Fall - First day of the school year - January 31
        • Spring - February 1 - last day of the school year
        • Summer - Period following last day of the school year - first day of the new school year.
    • Some educational programs leading to Master’s degrees, Certificates of Advanced Graduate Study, and/or additional New York State teaching certifications require enrollees to take more credit hours in a given semester and/or school year than permitted by Article XIII, Section B(5) of the CBA and/or only offer courses asynchronously. If this is the case for you there is a form HERE where you can apply for a waiver from some of the above conditions.
